12 months is almost here..........
Ok, I just realized that I'm close to celebrating my year nappiversary! You like my word, don't ya? Well, if you don't, I do. July 19 was my 10 month nappiversary (there's that word again!). I guess I owe ya'll some updated pics, huh? I'll work on that tonight. I won't say when I'll post them because Brandy holds you to it and I may not get around to doing it tonight. I think I want to do some pics of my hair as I'm washing/conditioning it. I'm going to give my puff another try as well. I'm trying to find a brush that will be able to handle my naps and coils. I've tried checking at Target and I haven't had any luck. I'm going to try Sally's next. I won't brush my hair unless I'm trying to get my edges straight for a puff(s). I'm going to try to find something that will help my hair lay down also. It's hard to believe that it's been over 10 months and I haven't had a relaxer or put heat on my hair. Oh, before I forget, one of David's co-workers is thinking about going natural and I gave him the link to our blog to give to her. He told me last night that she said I'm her hero because I went natural. If she's serious about going natural, I'd like to extend an invitation to her to join our blog. I'll be emailing her for a while before I extend that invite, though. I know this might sound corny, but when David told me what she said, it made me wonder who my hair hero is. Well, I didn't have to think about that very long. It's not a superstar or someone on MySpace that I don't know........it's you guys (Brandy and Libby). I've never felt alone in this hair journey because Brandy created this wonderful blog for us to chart our progress and ask questions and make suggestions and it's allowed me to see that there's nothing to fear when it comes to going natural. Seeing all the different things you guys do with your hair is amazing and you both rock the 'fro so awesomely (I know that might not be a real word, but I'm using it anyway!). Brandy, you are so daring when it comes to your different styles and now your color and Libby (I really hope we get to meet in person some day soon!) you have this genuine earthiness when it comes to your natural, wild tresses (does that make sense? It doesn't look like the words are expressing what I'm trying to say very well). I usually rock the same old style, but I'm comfortable with that. I will eventually change up my look to something new and fresh and I get so many ideas from seeing what you guys post on the blog. You guys are truly an inspiration! Ok, enough of being sappy. I'll work on my pics and let you know what happens with David's co-worker (her name is Yoshi, but I don't think I spelled it right). Hopefully, our blog will begin to grow. Hey, crazy idea, but what would you guys think about having a party for my one year nappiversay? Libby, would you be able to come to Greensboro in September? I would probably do it on 9/13 because my parents are planning to come to VA for my dad's birthday and that's 2 days after my actual nappiversay. Let me know. Ok, I'm gone. I've rambled enough. Be on the look out for my pics........

Hey Nicole,
Congratulation on your one year hair anniverisary. Mine will be in November, so I'm excited to see where I will be. Sorry, it has taken me so long to respond to you regarding coming to in town. Unfortunately, it does not seem that I will be able to make it in town for that weekend. I might come in October, but there's no guarantee in that statement. Next time, I'm in town, I'll have Brandy coordinate an outing for all of us to hang out.
Hope to see some new pics of you soon on the blog!
Bye,
~alc
